Woodside Counseling, LLC offers counseling services for individuals and families in the Silver Spring area. Sessions can be conducted either virtually or in-person to suit your preferences. Our services include evaluations, individual and family counseling, college decision-making support, career counseling, and supervision for LGPCs working toward LCPC licensure in Maryland. I am licensed to provide counseling in both Maryland and Delaware.
About me
Kate is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland, a Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) in Delaware, and a nationally certified sign language interpreter (CI, CT). With over 20 years of experience, Kate has worked as a psychotherapist with both hearing and Deaf clients, as well as their families. She has a practice located in Silver Spring, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., and enjoys working with children and families, as well as providing individual counseling for clients of all ages.
Before establishing her private practice, Kate worked at Johns Hopkins in various settings, including outpatient services, partial hospitalization, mobile treatment, and school-based programs. She has also provided support in Emergency Departments, helping individuals and families navigate crisis situations.
Kate specializes in treating individuals with ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders, using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as effective treatment modalities.
Kate earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and her graduate degree in Counseling from Gallaudet University, also in Washington, D.C.
