Kate is a highly experienced psychotherapist licensed in both Maryland (LCPC) and Delaware (LPCMH), holding unique national certifications as a Sign Language Interpreter (CI, CT). Born and raised in the DMV, she is well-versed in the unique culture of the Washington metropolitan area, including the distinct dynamics of government and military careers, as well as high-pressure academic environments.

With over 20 years of dedicated practice, Kate provides compassionate, specialized therapy to both hearing and Deaf individuals, as well as their families. From her private practice located inside the D.C Beltway in Silver Spring, Maryland, she offers individual counseling for clients of all ages, with a particular passion for supporting children, families, and couples working to strengthen their marriages as well as premarital counseling.

Before launching her private practice, Kate built a diverse clinical foundation at Johns Hopkins, working across outpatient services, partial hospitalization, mobile treatment, and school-based programs. She also brings vital crisis-intervention experience from her time supporting individuals and families in Emergency Departments.

Specializing in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety, and depression, Kate tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs. She primarily utilizes evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for individuals, and incorporates the renowned Gottman Method to help couples navigate marital challenges, foster deeper connection, and rebuild relationship strength.
